Overview
The Office of Supplier Diversity was created to promote fair and equal business opportunities through the intentional implementation of diversity programs to ensure equity in contracts and procurement for all members of our community who want to do business with the City of St. Petersburg. The Office of Supplier Diversity was created in response to the Disparity Study, which was conducted in 2021.

Supplier Diversity Day
In October 2023, the Office of Supplier Diversity hosted its first annual Supplier Diversity Day – a dynamic event dedicated to advancing diversity and inclusion in partnership with the city. Through engaging sessions, networking opportunities, and impactful discussions, the day highlighted the city's commitment to fostering a diverse supplier ecosystem. Operations
Currently, the Office of Supplier Diversity is responsible for overseeing the following City ordinances:
- Apprenticeship
- Disadvantaged Workers
- Minority Owned Business Enterprises (MBE)
- Women Owned Business Enterprises (WBE)
- Small Business Enterprises (SBE)
- Living Wage
- Responsible Wage
Contract Compliance: The Office of Supplier Diversity monitors City projects to ensure the intent of the programs and ordinances under the office are carried out in all procurement activities and opportunities.
Certification: The Office of Supplier Diversity is the certifying office for the City’s SBE and M/WBE programs.
Outreach and Events: The Office of Supplier Diversity looks forward to connecting with businesses and helping them make connections with business opportunities.
