Midtown Economic Development, or Banyan Scapes Grand Opening March 18 St. Petersburg, FL (March 17, 2008) - The public is invited to join St. Petersburg city officials for the grand opening celebration of Banyan Scapes, located at 932 49th Street South, on Tuesday, March 18, at 10 a.m. Banyan Scapes is a full-service landscape solutions company and nursery center providing a wide range of landscaping products and solutions. At the newly renovated center on 49th Street South, you will find a full retail and wholesale nursery center, landscape design and installation, mowing and expert pruning services, complete fertilization programs, an irrigation management program, and mulch/sod installation. In the spring of 2007, owners Stefan and Lissa Kaschkadayev decided to expand their small landscaping business by adding a retail nursery component. In order to do this they needed to relocate. In searching for suitable sites, they found an abandoned building on 49th Street South, with enough land to accommodate a nursery. After spending months preparing the land and building for retail use, Banyan Scapes is now open to the public. Goliath J. Davis III, St. Petersburg’s Deputy Mayor for Midtown Economic Development noted, “This is a fantastic improvement to the 49th Street South corridor and compliments well those activities we are planning for the Greater Childs Park Area.”
