NEIGHBORHOOD JAI-ALAI COURT OPENS IN ST. PETERSBURG
St. Petersburg, Fla. (April 18, 2008) - The public is invited to join Mayor Rick Baker, elected officials and neighborhood guests on Saturday, April 19 beginning at 9:30 a.m. for a ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration of a new Jai-Alai Cancha (court) in St. Petersburg. Located at Jack Puryear Park at 5701 Lee Street NE, the court is the first of its kind in the United States. Entertainment, refreshments and demonstrations to follow. Special appearance by Mark Beiro, the “Voice of Jai-Alai”.
