Entertainment from top local bands and performers include Rebekah Pulley and Band, and the River Rats Tour (Jose Primero, Rosewater Blue, CherryWeasel, American Horse Band) on Saturday. On Sunday, Gypsy Wind, Surfin' Raccoons and the Urban Gypsies perform. Plenty of children's activities include a kid's craft area and a bicycle raffle. Winners of the Annual Boyd Hill Nature Preserve Photo Contest will
be announced at 10 a.m. on Saturday. A donation of $2 for adults and $1 for children is appreciated and benefits the Friends of Boyd Hill Nature Park. For more information and the performing arts schedule, call 727-893-7326.
The Art Arbor Festival is an annual fund-raising event hosted by The Friends of Boyd Hill Nature Park, a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to promote awareness of Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, provide environmental education to the public, and preserve and protect the park and its natural habitat.
Boyd Hill Nature Preserve is located along the shores of Lake Maggiore in St. Petersburg. The 245-acre park features more than three miles of trails and boardwalks that lead visitors through hardwood hammocks, sand pine scrub, pine flatwoods, willow marsh and lakeshore and is part of the Great Florida Birding Trail. An aviary is home to many permanently injured birds of prey. The Lake Maggiore Environmental Education Center provides interpretive programming on a variety of environmental and natural history topics, a gift shop, and the "The Ripple Effect", a dramatic exhibit that showcases Boyd Hill's distinct ecosystems. Using a series of dioramas and displays, the exhibit features special interactive panels that show that every action has an equal or greater reaction in our environment - like the ripples caused by a raindrop
onto still water. Guided tours, rentals and overnight camping facilities are available. Call 727-893-7326 or visit
