The Marketing and Communication Department's Events and Outreach division collaborates with community partners to attract events, programs, conferences and other activities that stimulate travel to the city and result in significant economic impact for the business community. The waterfront parks, cultural venues, historic sites and vibrant downtown offer dynamic settings for festive gatherings, TV and film production, meetings and sporting events. The outreach staff offers event promotion and information services for participants.
The outreach initiative also includes providing information services throughout the city, at attractions and accommodations, neighborhood and community events, and in city facilities.
Event Development
For more than a quarter century the city of St. Petersburg has supported its charities and not-for-profit organizations through the Co-Sponsored Event Program.
New events that create substantial impact and/or generate exposure for the city may be eligible to receive support from the Marketing and Communications department. Event producers may submit proposals to the Event Marketing Manager.
Event Promotion
The Marketing and Communications Department assists in promoting events and activities funded through the co-sponsored events program, events held in city venues and parks, and programs offered by cultural institutions funded by the city. Services include promotional guidance for new events, event calendar listings in print, through events e-newsletters and on the city's on-line events calendar, brochure and poster distribution, information centers at events, and the street light pole banner program.

Conference & Meeting Support
Informative brochures about the city are available to groups and meeting planners for advance distribution to potential attendees and registrants, as well as for use with conference materials upon arrival.
